Air Purifier User Guide

USER GUIDE · AIR PURIFIER

Set up in under 3 minutes.

Everything you need to get your Ruvalina running from unboxing to breathing better tonight.

A QUICK SAFETY NOTE

Before we get started, a few things worth knowing:

Keep liquids away from all openings, and avoid using your Ruvalina near stoves, heaters, or open flames bathrooms and kitchens aren't a great fit either. If the cord or unit ever looks damaged, please stop using it and reach out to us.

Keep little fingers away from the air outlet the unit isn't a toy. And just so you know: your Ruvalina filters particles from the air, but it doesn't remove carbon monoxide. In any gas or chemical emergency, get everyone out first. When it's time to retire the unit, please drop it at an electronics recycling center rather than the regular bin.

WHAT'S INSIDE THE BOX

Air Purifier  the main unit with a touch control panel on top. The filter is already installed inside, which means you're almost ready to go.

USB-C Cable  works with any standard USB adapter, your phone charger, or even a power bank.

H13 HEPA Filter  pre-installed and wrapped in a plastic bag.  You'll need to remove that bag before you close the unit back up.  It's the easiest step to miss, and the most important one.

GETTING SET UP

Five steps to your first breath of clean air.

 1. Flip the unit upside down.
Set it gently on a soft surface. The circular base cover on the bottom is where you access the filter.

 2. Twist open the base cover.
Turn it counterclockwise toward the unlock icon until it releases, then lift it off.

 3. Remove the plastic bag from the filter.

⚠️  Please don't skip this one.
Pull the clear PE bag off completely the purifier needs open airflow through the filter to do its job. If the bag stays on, you'll get zero airflow and wonder why nothing's happening.

 4. Drop the filter back in.
It fits in either direction, so no need to second-guess yourself. Press it down gently until it sits flat.

 5. Close up, flip upright, and plug in.
Twist the base cover clockwise until it clicks. Flip the unit right-side up, then connect the USB-C cable. You'll hear one beep that's your Ruvalina saying hello and the fan starts at medium speed. You can change the speed right away with the fan button.

WHERE TO PUT IT

A flat, dry surface works great a bedside table, desk, or dresser are all perfect. Just make sure there's a little clearance above it so air can flow freely.

Steer clear of bathrooms, kitchens, stoves, and heaters. And try not to place it directly under an air conditioner condensation can drip into the unit over time.

One thing to keep in mind: your Ruvalina works best when it can circulate air in one room. It can't push filtered air through walls or closed doors, so give each room its own unit if you can.

THE CONTROLS

All touch buttons right on top of the unit.

Power  Tap to turn on or off. One beep when it starts, and it'll always come back on at medium speed.

Fan Speed: 1 / 2 / 3
Tap to cycle through Low → Medium → High.
Higher speed cleans the air faster, though Level 3 does get a bit louder (around 50 dB).
For overnight use, Level 1 or Sleep Mode is your friend.

Timer: 2 / 4 / 8 hours  Set it and forget it.
Tap to cycle through durations; tap once more past 8h to cancel the timer entirely.

Sleep Mode  This is the one you'll want at night. It runs quieter (32 dB softer than a whisper) and dims all the lights to 30%.
Most people forget it's even on.

LED Light
Tap to cycle through two brightness levels, or turn it off completely.
Works independently from Sleep Mode.

Filter Indicator
When this flashes red, it's time for a new filter. After you've swapped it in, hold this button for 5 seconds to reset the counter. The light goes out immediately.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR FILTER

Replace it every 2 months.

The H13 filter is designed for about 1,440 hours of run time roughly two months of continuous use. If you have pets or it's peak pollen season, err on the side of replacing it a little earlier.

One important rule: don't wash the filter.
Water permanently damages the H13 fiber structure.
When it's done, replace it don't rinse it.

Filter indicator is off?  You're good. No action needed.
Filter indicator is flashing red?  Time to swap.
Grab a new H13 filter at ruvalina.com, install it, and reset the counter.

HOW TO SWAP THE FILTER

 Unplug first.
Always disconnect the unit before opening it.

Remove the base cover and old filter.
Twist counterclockwise, lift off the cover, and pull out the old filter. You can toss it in regular household waste no special handling needed.

Unwrap and install the new filter.
Peel off the plastic bag, drop the filter in (either direction works), and press it flat.

Close up and reset.
Reattach the base cover, flip the unit upright, and plug it back in. Power on, then hold the filter indicator button for 5 seconds until the red light stops flashing.

⚠️  Even with a brand-new filter installed, the unit will keep flashing red until you reset it.  The 5-second hold is what tells it you've made the swap.

WHEN SOMETHING SEEMS OFF

It won't turn on.
Check both ends of the USB-C cable, and make sure the base cover is fully twisted to the locked position. The unit won't run if it's even slightly open.

Airflow feels weak.
The filter is most likely clogged. Install a fresh H13 filter and hold the filter button for 5 seconds to reset.

The red light won't stop flashing.
The counter wasn't reset after the new filter. With the unit on, hold the filter indicator button for a full 5 seconds until the light goes out.

There's a strange smell on first use.
Totally normal new filters and housings off-gas a little. Run it on high for 1–2 hours in a ventilated space. The smell will disappear and won't come back.

It's too loud to sleep next to.
Switch to Sleep Mode (the moon icon). At 32 dB, it's quieter than a conversation most people stop noticing it within a few minutes.

Can I vacuum or wash the filter?
Neither, unfortunately. Vacuuming can tear the H13 membrane, and water destroys the fiber structure entirely. When the filter is done, replace it rather than trying to clean it.
